Our facilities
Our students benefit from some of the best facilities and equipment in the country to improve their learning outcomes and quality of life.
The 90 acre site on which our school is located is set within the beautiful Cheshire countryside and provides a safe and secure environment for the children and young people who attend.
The large amount of space we have onsite enables students to develop their orienteering and road safety skills and allows the use of adapted bikes and walking aids.

Sensory Rooms

We have a number of different sensory rooms across site providing safe environments where our children and young adults can relax and explore. Each one of our sensory rooms is fitted with a number of different features including waterbeds, colourful padded floors, interactive equipment, bubble tubes, light projectors and sounds. These rooms play an important role in developing life skills, motor skills, color recognition, tracking and supporting our students to develop their communication skills.
Gamelan Suite
We are proud to have our very own Gamelan - an Indonesian percussion orchestra - which we use to promote the musical development, communication skills and socio-emotional wellbeing of our children and young adults.
We have recently been awarded a grant, in collaboration with Manchester Metropolitan University, to run an innovative and collaborative project which aims to further develop the use of our Gamelan. The grant was awarded by the National Foundation for Youth Music, a charity that promotes the opportunity for music making to be available to all children and young people.
Audiology Clinic
We have an on-site audiology clinic with state of the art equipment allowing our resident audiologists to carry out hearing assessments as well as routinely managing and fitting hearing aids, including programming and adjusting.
Medical Centre
The medical centre at Seashell Trust is a registered nurse-led service available to all students on a daily basis and in accordance with individual need. It provides both planned and emergency care for students during school/college hours.
The registered nursing team work as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team to provide and promote holistic care for all students. The medical centre works closely with student GPs, neurologists, psychiatrists, paediatricians, dentists, dieticians and podiatrists.
Nursing duties, alongside routine minor and major injuries clinics, include the undertaking of initial assessments and collating of information on new student applicants through to the development of Health Action Plans and, where applicable, Epilepsy Care Plans. These unique plans are continually monitored, updated and evaluated. The medical centre has a close relationship with, and liaises with, each student's local authority including social services and looked after child teams.
The medical centre provides a learning environment and mentorship for nursing students from the University of Salford and an integral part of the service is the revision, assessment and monitoring of all Seashell Trust's training medication staff.
