Our College

Royal College Manchester is an independent specialist further education college, designed for supporting young people with learning difficulties, disabilities, complex health needs and autism. Accommodating students aged between 19-25 years. It offers placements for both day and residential students.

Our Homes

We have 17 home-from-home, four-bedroomed houses for children and young people with complex learning difficulties who need residential support. We can provide 24-hour care, weekly and termly boarding, and comprehensive 52-week placement for individuals aged 3-25 years.
We also offer individual packages of respite care for children with special needs. Residents can come from anywhere across the UK and do not have to be students at Seashell to enjoy a short break.

We offer families a comprehensive package of support for ordinary living from day one of their journey with us. We have accommodation on-site so that parents and siblings can stay close and in touch, and there is staff support to ensure the whole family can enjoy quality time together.

Our sports, physical activity, and wellbeing teams form a vital part of Seashell, offering a wide range of health, well-being and leisure activities for our students, staff, and the wider community. We have a wide range of sports facilities available for use by our community, including our 3G sports pitch.

External Services

We offer a comprehensive range of specialist training and support to SEND children and young adults aged 0 to 25 and their families as well as to professional in the sector, including schools, colleges and other settings locally, regionally and nationally. While supporting people with learning disabilities, we help promote the positive inclusion of children and young people with special educational needs and complex learning disabilities.

Nurseries, schools and colleges from across the UK now have the ability to meet more complex needs, and ultimately improve outcomes for children and young people through more effective early intervention and targeted support for ordinary living.
