A CHARITY clay pigeon shoot organised in Cheshire by philanthropist and businessman Ged Mason OBE, has raised £150,000 for two worthy causes.
Ollerton Grange Charity Clay Shoot took place on Friday, 5 June 2026, and was attended by generous supporters and many of Ged’s friends. Proceeds from the day were split between NeuroMuscular Centre and Seashell Trust – meaning Seashell will have £75,000 from the day.
Attendees included jockey Paul Nicholls, England and Sale Sharks player Ben Curry, ex-England and Sale Sharks player Mark Cueto, ex-England rugby player Paul Sackey, former England rugby union player Josh Beaumont, and television star Matthew Kelly.
Ged, Seashell’s President, said: “This was the first event we’ve done and it was incredibly well-supported.
“The two organisations we have supported carry out life-changing work, supporting individuals and families with care, opportunity and independence. Both do incredible work in the local community and it was a privilege to fundraise for them with this shoot.
“It’s been amazing to raise this amount of money, which will be split equally between the two charities, and hopefully we can continue to build on this in future.”
The NeuroMuscular Centre is a charity based in Winsford, Cheshire and is dedicated to enriching the lives of people affected by neuromuscular conditions.
NMC’s CEO Nick Farmer said: “We are incredibly grateful to Ged and inspired by the dedication of everyone who worked so hard to make this fantastic event a success. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the organisers and to all those who attended.
“NMC needs to raise £1.4 million every year to sustain our vital services, including specialist physiotherapy, exercise and opportunities that are not available anywhere else in the UK. Events like this are essential in ensuring we can continue empowering people with neuromuscular conditions to live active, independent lives.”
Seashell Trust is a national charity which transforms the lives of young people with the most complex disabilities in the country.
Seashell’s CEO Brandon Leigh, who also attended the event, said: “Seashell needs £2million of fundraised income per year so we’re not just fulfilling need, but we’re unlocking the potential of our students.
“Events like this and the generosity and support from people like Ged is just invaluable to Seashell. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who supports us and attended this event.”
The shoot included prizes for the Glorious 12th, won by Mason Lennick, the Wooden Spoon, which went to Mark Cueto and of course the overall Team Winner, which was Accidental Accident. Second place went to John Illingworth and his team Bullion & Bullseyes.
The money raised at the event came from tickets, a raffle, live auction, stand sponsorship and sweepstakes during the shooting. Raffle and auctions prizes included a dining experience with wine pairing from Knutsford restaurant LI~LY, a Boodles cocktail masterclass evening, a private box at Sale Sharks donated by Bentley Manchester, and a four-person trip to Aintree Festival via helicopter.
The event also included a sit-down dinner. It was all made possible thanks to sponsors Ollerton Grange, Chelford Farm Supplies Ltd, Scan Mobility, Longthorne, and Harris & Howard Bespoke Tailors.
