Another incredible academic year at Seashell has come to an end! Over the last two days we’ve been celebrating our School and College students and all their achievements, and saying an emotional goodbye to our wonderful leavers.
Royal College Manchester
Our College students were the first to break up for summer, beginning the day with a Leavers Breakfast where parents, staff and students enjoyed drinks and refreshments in the Margaret Mason Hall before the Leavers’ Assembly.
We had plenty of laughs and applause, as well as a few tears, as we said goodbye to our amazing graduates – celebrating their achievements, determination, resilience and personal development that each student has shown throughout their time at Seashell.
Co-Principal Katherine Watson addressed parents, saying: “Thank you for all the support you’ve given us. It really is a privilege that you feel you can leave your young people in our hands. We will really miss them and the ethos, values and personalities that they bring to Seashell every year.”
There are lots of paths open to our graduates – some are off to adult care, others will be at home with family and some young people will be doing voluntary or paid work, including some who will be working at Seashell! Whatever their next adventure holds, we are so proud of everyone for what they have achieved.
We had the best time celebrating with the graduates and dancing at a disco on the grass to mark the end of another triumphant year. Royal School Manchester
On Friday, Royal School Manchester had their Leavers Assembly celebrating five incredible students who have made such an impact on our school.
Parents, staff and students enjoyed a special wheelchair dance performance, before watching a presentation highlighting the amazing progress and achievements of our Royal School Manchester leavers. Each leaver received a bag with a hoodie, certificate and branded goodies.
It was an emotional goodbye, but we ended on a high with another performance from our wheelchair dance group, who truly stole the show. Some of our leavers will be progressing to Royal College Manchester, and we very much look forward to continuing being a part of their journey. Best of luck to all those who are moving on, it’s been truly special having you be a part of our school.
To celebrations didn’t end there – outside the building, students and staff could enjoy a free ice cream from Stevie’s Ices.
Each of the five stations celebrated our leavers and their passions – we had Erin’s bubble station, Cayman’s sensory water play, Tommy’s ice smashing, Kian’s jigsaw and games, and Kevin’s superhero face paint.
To end such a wonderful day, music teacher Greg performed all the hits in our Margaret Mason Hall for everyone to dance the afternoon away.
