We can’t believe it’s already the end of term!
What a wonderful day we’ve had, first celebrating our school and college leavers and then spending a sunny afternoon at our Summer Celebration Event.
On Friday we had our College and School Leavers’ Assemblies, celebrating all the incredible achievements of our Royal College Manchester and Royal School Manchester students. We are so proud of all of our wonderful leavers, who have progressed throughout their time at Seashell to achieve their goals, learn new skills and build on existing ones.
Some of our college leavers will move on to employment, other colleges, day centres or supported living placements. Even after students leave Seashell, our staff are still available to make transitions as easy as possible and answer any questions future employers or care services may have. Thank you to all of our leavers for working so hard, brightening our days and inspiring us – we wish you all the best in the future.

After the assemblies, families could enjoy activities, games, face painting and refreshments in our residential village. Thank you so much to our Family Services team and our volunteers for setting up the event, including creating some colourful chalk designs to welcome people in! We had some freebies to give out, including some Seashell merchandise, and we also had toys and games available in exchange for a donation.
Over at the bandstand, school music teacher Greg played some acoustic songs to get everyone up and dancing, before handing the mic over to our students to showcase their vocals. We had college student Ali, who loves singing and dancing, performing Three Little Birds. Other performers included college students Dan, Sam and Josh, and school students Scarlett, Imogen and Thomas on the recorder. So many of our students enjoy expressing themselves through music, and it’s such a pleasure to see them perform.
Buddy Bear was on hand to give out plenty of high-fives and dance along to the music. Thank you to all the parents and siblings who joined us today to celebrate the achievements of our students.
Have a wonderful summer break!
