We were delighted to welcome Seashell President, Ged Mason OBE, for a tour of the newly-completed Ged Mason Building.
Eric Wright Group began construction in August 2024 and we received the keys on 8th December. The building will continue being fitted out with furniture over the next few months before staff and students move in from February.

Ged Mason enjoyed a tour of the world-class facilities that will be used by Royal College Manchester staff and students, including purpose-built sensory integration rooms, flexible multi-purpose rooms, life skills rooms, rebound suites, climbing wall and gym. On the first floor of the building is a contemporary office space and meeting rooms for College and support staff.
After the tour, Ged was welcomed to the current College building by some of our students, who presented him with a beautiful handmade Christmas card.

“Today has been a very proud moment for me, touring the completed building and seeing the impressive facilities first-hand,” said Ged.
“This new College will no doubt have a transformative impact on the students and staff. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Eric Wright Construction and all the contractors who have done a fantastic job from start to finish.” – Ged
We still have over £1m left to raise to complete this state-of-the-art project. If you would like to be involved in helping us reach this goal please get in touch at fundraising@seashelltrust.org.uk.
