We’re so grateful to the BlueSpark Foundation for funding Floatsation equipment for our students to use. The equipment is a huge benefit to the swimmers at Seashell, providing students with confidence and comfort, supporting them to be more independent and gain greater enjoyment from their time in the water.

This swimming aid is made of foam-like balls and supports flexibility, independence and stability in the water for all ages and abilities.
For one student, using the Floatsation equipment has allowed him to become more independent and need less physical support in the water. This gives staff more freedom and flexibility when teaching and allows greater range during the sessions.
The equipment has provided him with positive sensory feedback and a relaxing environment and the flexibility provides greater mobility for the swimmer and supports his confidence in the water. He loves to come swimming, and the equipment helps make it a more enjoyable experience!
“The new Floatsation equipment has been monumental in helping our swimmers in the water. It’s great for supporting independence and making the sessions more enjoyable – we’ve have been having a lot of fun with it!” – Jennifer Green, Seashell’s Aquatics Delivery Officer
The Floatsation equipment has been monumental in helping our swimmers in the water. We look forward to fully implementing them moving forward to benefit the young people at Seashell.
