We’re so pleased to announced that the 200 runners who ran Great Manchester Run for us raised more than £25,000.

The incredible figure means Seashell will be able to do so much for the children and young adults in our care, across our six services.

Plenty of runners decided to do it in groups, including a 90-strong team from Together.

Grace Thornett, Internal Comms and Communities Manager at Together, said: “At Together, we are so proud to support Seashell as our Colleague Charity of the Year.

“One of our longest standing colleague challenges is the Great Manchester Run and this year we had 92 of our colleagues taking part in both the 10K and Half Marathon races to fundraise for Seashell – our biggest turn out ever!

“This year, we raised an amazing £6,414 which Together has generously agreed to match fund, bringing our total raised to £12,428! We are so thrilled to have raised such a fantastic amount which we know will make such a difference to everyone at Seashell with the build of the new employability hubs. We can’t wait for the next challenge already!”

Also taking part were SoSquared and zally. SoSquared CEO and Co-founder Sam Royle took the 10K one step further by running the event in a 20kg weighted jacket.

Sam said: “I feel incredibly proud of the entire team at SoSquared and zally for all their efforts as part of the zally foundation’s continued mission to support charities in the area. When I decided to run with the added weight I hadn’t truly appreciated just quite how heavy that would be, but the support from the crowd including all the Seashell team was what was a real driving force.”

A big thanks goes out to each and everyone of our amazing and dedicated runners who made this staggering £25,000 total possible, including: The Citation Group, Beyond Law Group, McAlister Family Law, Pinsent Masons, Sharp UK, Laltex, SoSquared, zally, Barclays, Insight, Together and of course our colleagues here at Seashell. Well done gang!
