Respite care allows families and caregivers to enjoy relaxing breaks, whilst providing guests with memorable experiences in residential care. Here at Seashell Trust, we ensure that our respite care for children and young people is just as relaxing and enjoyable for our visitors as it is for their parents, so you can rest assured your children are in good hands.

What is Respite Care for Disabled Young People?
As rewarding as it is, taking full-time care of a young adult with complex special needs can be tiring. That’s why respite care is available to parents who need a well-deserved short-term break from their caring role.
While in respite care, children and young adults can enjoy adapted facilities, designed to accommodate their complex special needs, as well as wraparound care and a range of activities to make their stays memorable and enjoyable. Our goal is to create an experience that helps young people socialise and develop, while caregivers take that much-needed time for themselves.
What is Respite Care at Seashell Like?
At Seashell, our residential homes are available to children and young adults between the ages of four and 25. With one home registered with Ofsted and another with the Care Quality Commission, parents can rest assured that their child or young person is being properly cared for by professionals who are keen to make them feel at home.
While staying with Seashell, guests can enjoy an individual bedroom and a unique care plan tailored to their specific needs. They’ll even have the opportunity to share communal spaces with like-minded individuals of a similar age who share their interests.
To make their stay with us even more special, guests will also enjoy a selection of recreational activities. We appreciate that everyone has a unique range of interests, which is why our activities span from arts, crafts and cooking to sports for people with disabilities.
But, what’s a break without a trip or two? Our reliable team of staff will also take guests on trips to a selection of locations, including cinemas, restaurants, shops, and other popular sites and attractions.
How Long Can Respite Care Last?
The length of respite care available depends on a family’s individual needs. Seashell is happy to accommodate young people with special needs. Our team is happy to create bespoke packages based on your needs and can even offer long-term residential care for young adults.
How Much Does Respite Care Cost?
The costs of respite care at Seashell can differ on a person-to-person basis. Before offering a price, our team will need to consider your child or young person’s circumstances and the duration of their stay at our fantastic facilities. If you’re curious, we encourage you to reach out and get in touch with our team, who’ll be more than happy to help you.
