Imogen, a student at our Royal School Manchester, shows us what’s inside her ‘Important to Me’ bag.
With support from Teaching Assistant Sophie, Imogen shows us her favourite toys, including bubbles, keys and therapy putty. Her laminated flipbook takes us through everything that is special to Imogen, including photos of her family and her friends, artwork, and baking creations! Imogen’s PODD book supports her to communicate her needs and talk about things she enjoys.
One of Imogen’s favourite characters is Peppa Pig, so naturally her bag has her favourite Peppa Pig book, and some special Peppa artwork. There’s also some fabulous art sculptures and paintings – Imogen is a very gifted artist!
Thank you to Laltex for gifting us 50 tote bags, which have plenty of room for our students’ favourite things. ‘Important to Me’ bags are a great tool for new staff to get to know our students and understand the things that are most important to them. It’s also great for students to have all of their favourite things nearby and show them off!
