Seashell are looking for an Assistive Technology Assistant to provide effective and efficient support to the Assistive Technologist in College. You will need to have a working knowledge of existing assistive technologies as well as experience working with learners who have a diagnosis of SEN within an educational setting. There will be close collaboration with colleagues within Seashell as well as external stakeholders such as parents, carers and other professionals.

ATA Role Outline
- Ensure that all actions and decisions take consideration of the impact on our children, young people and families in accordance with Seashell Trust’s Core Values. Acting as a role model for colleagues in terms of standards of behaviour, professional expertise and integrity.
- To work with the Assistive Technologist to manage technology including using the latest Mobile Device Management software and do regular back up of devices.
- To work with learners diagnosed with complex SEN in accessing educational opportunities in both college and the residential setting.
- To respond to any ad-hoc queries regarding use of technology within classrooms and residential setting, link to student learning requirements.
- To support the completion of appropriate GDPR activities to ensure any new software is GDPR compliant. To support the AT to carry out Annual GDPR administration working closely with our Data Officer.
- Work collaboratively with the college AT to ensure high quality delivery of AT strategy for all learners within RCM.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous working knowledge of AT hardware and Software used in SEN Educational settings would be an advantage
- Qualifications linked to IT and software development/ management
- Supporting in strategy development and deployment of new hardware and software
- Experience of working with Assistive Technology through a variety of learner needs.
- Experience of working in an education setting
