About Seashell Trust:
Originally founded in 1823, Seashell Trust is a nationally recognised and registered charity based in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport. The Trust comprises of the Royal School Manchester, the Royal College Manchester, 17 bespoke Residential Care Homes, Outreach Health and Family Services. We provide expert Residential care and Education for children and young people with severe, profound, and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairments, communication disorders and autism. Our fantastic services are based all on one-site, which deepens our sense of community for our children and young people and the wider Seashell team.
About the role:
At Seashell, our 17 bespoke Residential Homes are purpose-built with a ‘home from home’ feel, we provide 24-hour care, weekly and termly boarding and 52-week placement for individuals aged 3-25 years.
As the House Manager, you will lead one of our homes within the Young Adults’ Service (19-25 years old) and be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring the highest standard of care is delivered at all times to our young adults. You will coach and mentor staff, encouraging team motivation and effective people management.
You will liaise with key stakeholders, including families and local authorities. You will work within and quality-assure the care delivered against CQC Fundamental Standards for Homes for young adults and any additional relevant legislation.

Requirements of the role:
- Minimum qualification QCF Level 3 Health and Social Care (CCYP/Adults) or diploma for young adults service
- Extensive knowledge and experience of working with young adults with Autism and challenging behaviour
- Previous experience in a senior/supervisory role in a young adults / adults care setting
- Previous experience of implementing CQC Fundamental Standards for Homes for young adults
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and frameworks
- Strong experience of supervising and completing appraisals with staff in a care setting
- Ability and commitment to supervise and support staff to enable cohesive and effective team working
- Ability to commit to flexible working, shifts are worked over 7 days, between 7.30am – 10pm
