Seashell Trust is a national charity supporting children and young people with complex learning difficulties, multi-sensory impairments, autism and physical disabilities. Based in Cheadle Hulme, we provide education, care, therapy, and outreach services, and are undergoing an exciting campus transformation, including a new college build.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Newly Qualified Occupational Therapist to join our well‑established and highly skilled Health Team. Working alongside Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Audiologists, Nurses, and Assistive Technologists, you’ll receive comprehensive support as you grow your clinical skills within a CQC‑registered specialist service.
About the Role
As a Newly Qualified Occupational Therapist, you’ll:
- Deliver specialist assessment and intervention for children and young people with complex physical, learning, sensory, and communication needs.
- Use occupational therapy principles to maximise independence, engagement, functional skills, and participation in daily life.
- Be responsible for a designated caseload, planning and evaluating therapy programmes with guidance from senior colleagues.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary assessments, goal‑setting, reviews, and care planning across Health, Education, and Care.
- Provide clear written reports, therapy plans, and clinical records in line with professional standards.
- Support the safe use of specialist postural management and functional equipment, with supervision.
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, and external professionals to promote continuity and skill development.
- Participate in CPD, supervision, audits, and service development activities as part of your professional growth.
What We’re Looking For:
- BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists
- Experience supporting children or young people with complex and/or physical needs (placements accepted)
- Strong communication, organisation, and report‑writing skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to CPD and reflective practice
- Full UK Driving Licence
