About Seashell Trust
Originally founded in 1823, Seashell Trust is a nationally recognised and registered charity based in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport. The trust consists of the Royal School Manchester (RSM), Royal College Manchester (RCM), 17 residential homes, outreach and health & family services. Based on one site, we provide care and education for children and young people (up to 25 years old) with severe, profound, and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairment, communication disorders and autism.

We are proud to have dedicated teams of healthcare professionals based on site to support the children and young people in our school and college with their individual ECHPs and are excited to be recruiting a Principal Audiologist to lead and further develop our growing Audiology service.

Requirements:
- MSc in Audiology/Healthcare Science or equivalent level or significant relevant experience Certificate of Audiological Competence /Diploma in Clinical Competence in Audiology or equivalent State Registration (HCPC or RCCP)
- Evidence of continued professional development including Masters level study or working towards
- Experience of working as an Audiologist with children and/or young people with profound and complex learning disabilities and physical disabilities – ideally in an education environment
- Experience of management and clinical supervision of qualified professionals
- Experience of developing clinical governance agendas including clinical audit
- Experience of conducting service evaluation
A key focus of this role will be to develop and grow the Seashell audiology service so we are looking for someone with the experience and passion to move our service forward. Although the role won’t carry a caseload as such, it will support the existing Audiologists and take the lead for clinical governance and facilitating new people into the service as it continues to grow.
To be able to do this successfully at Seashell, you will also need to have a good understanding of the needs of people with neurodevelopmental disabilities, including autism spectrum conditions, MSI, profound and multiple intellectual disabilities and complex physical disabilities.
