Salary: £23,841 to £26,490 DOE
We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Officer (Purchase Ledger Clerk) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience within Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable roles, with a proven ability to manage financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
You will support the Management Accountant and Financial Controller in producing accurate financial information to support the work of the Directors, Senior Leadership Team and budget holders across the Trust.
Duties will include:
- To assist the Senior Finance Officer with the operation, maintenance and monthly reconciliation of the Purchase Ledger, posting all authorized invoices on to the system.
- Ensure that invoices have been authorized and, where orders have not been raised, to contact the relevant team.
- Handling VAT returns.
- To reconcile the purchase order processing each month and delete old orders.
- To check the purchase ledger balances to supplier statements at each month end.
- When required, to coach and train staff on using the Sicon system and to act as the responsible point of contact for all issues connected with Sicon.
- To assist the Senior Purchase ledger with the preparation of monthly accruals.
What are the hours?
- 37.5 hours per week.
- Monday to Friday 8.30 am – 4.30pm.
- A minimum of 2 days per week on site will be required (After full training and induction). Days on site must meet the needs of the Trust.
What we’re looking for
- GCSE English and Maths grade A-C/4 or above, or equivalent level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy is essential.
- Previous purchase ledger experience working in a finance office dealing with multiple cost centres.
- Experience with computerised accounting systems and electronic purchase order systems.
- Strong MS Excel skills, knowledge of Sage advantageous.
- Ability to prioritise and to work to tight schedules in often pressurised situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organisation and co-ordination skill.
