We are seeking to appoint an experienced role model teacher who has a reflective approach to undertake an additional responsibility within their current section of the school. This is a fixed-term internal opportunity for 12 months, running until after the February half term 2027.
This role is designed to strengthen curriculum leadership, support school improvement priorities, and provide additional strategic capacity within the department.
Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to ensure high-quality curriculum delivery, assessment, and continuous improvement in outcomes for pupils with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the strategic direction of curriculum, assessment, and provision within the section
- Act as a role model for high-quality teaching, learning, and inclusive practice
- Lead on the development and implementation of students’ programmes of study in line with the school’s curriculum framework
- Oversee the writing, monitoring, and quality assurance of:
o Individual Waves and wave data
o Key records and assessment documentation
o Individual Education Plan (IEP) targets
o Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets and provision mapping
- Support the analysis and use of assessment data to inform teaching, progress, and provision
- Share leadership responsibilities and departmental oversight with the Senior teacher
- Contribute actively to the School Development Plan, supporting priority areas for improvement
- Support school development, innovation, and change throughout the academic year
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team to drive school improvement and maintain high standards across the department
- Provide guidance, support, and professional role modelling for colleagues within the team

Additional Information
This is a temporary Teaching and Learning Responsibility opportunity for 12 months, ending after February half term 2027. The role will be reviewed at the end of the fixed-term period in line with school needs and development priorities.
