College Manchester student, Mollie is excelling in her new work experience role, and is becoming a valued member of the reception team.
Like all young people, Seashell learners have their own, individual interests, desires and ambitions, and Mollie has demonstrated a particular strength in supporting others. Each Friday morning, she arrives at reception to start her work experience, where she ensures that all visitors feel welcome at Seashell. Amongst a variety of administrative tasks, Mollie is keen to advise visitors on how follow safety measures while on site, and confidently communicates with staff across the Trust.
Maureen, Mollie’s teacher said: “She is developing some excellent skills to support our reception team as ‘Lead Receptionist’ as she describes! Mollie is gaining knowledge about what working life involves, she is very professional and has very quickly developed skills to enhance her experience.”
When asked about her placement, Mollie said: “I enjoy working in reception, looking after and caring for the people. I also like wearing my uniform.”
As well as discovering newfound enjoyment in her voluntary role, Mollie is also an avid fan of Strictly Come Dancing and generously offered to introduce Strictly Seashell’s host, Gethin Jones in a short video, which was shown at the event.
