Royal School Manchester is a non-maintained special needs school, based in Manchester, offering outstanding education and care for students aged two to 19. We offer day and residential placements. Our students come to us from across the UK and have profound and complex learning and communication difficulties. Each child is different with different needs, so our approach is to tailor our education and curriculum to support the individual.

We offer tailored care and support for those with learning difficulties, disabilities, complex health needs, and autism.

You can take a look at our School Performance data for more information about how our performance compares with national age-related expectations.

Positive Behaviour Management

The purpose of this procedure is to record details of all compliments and formal complaints received from service users and to provide a process to resolve formal complaints nearest their point of origin and prevent potential formal complaints escalating.

Compliments and Complaints Policy

This policy has been produced to ensure members of staff, children and young people, volunteers, contractors, and visitors are aware of the duties placed upon the charity by equality legislation and regulations. It is a comprehensive policy to explain the background, law, and our intentions together with our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Equality and Diversity Policy

We are dedicated in ensuring that the principles and duties of safeguarding children and young people are holistically, consistently and conscientiously applied with the wellbeing of all, at the heart of what we do.

Learning at Royal School Manchester is tailored to each child, with their individual needs, strengths and preferences shaping both the way in which they learn as well as their learning environment. Students’ progress is measured against themselves rather than their peers. Each individual child is unique with a personalised set of goals.
