Good quality sleep allows our bodies and minds to regenerate. People who are sleep deprived are far more likely to suffer from physical and mental health issues. Without enough sleep, our brains cannot function properly. Seashell offers free sleep support for children and young people with SEND, from 2 to 25 years and their families. Our Sleep Practitioners are trained in the Sleep Charity’s behavioural intervention and have years of experience working with children and young adults with autism, multi-sensory impairment, and learning disabilities.
What type of support do we offer?
The following are some of the courses and workshops designed to support you and your child.
Understanding and Improving Sleep for Neurodivergent Children
An online four-hour interactive group workshop for parent carers that contextualises the importance and function of sleep and the impact of sleep deprivation, before investigating strategies to address sleep issues. This is free to parent carers.
Sleep Clinic
An online 1:1 consultation, allowing for targeted and individualised advice and guidance to address sleep issues. Parent carers have the opportunity to trial strategies and discuss outcomes via email with our sleep practitioner for up to six months post-clinic. Sleep clinics are £95.
Who can access sleep support?
You can access sleep support if you or your child are between the ages of 2 and 25. We can work with parent/carers or the child/young person themselves as appropriate.
