We’ve teamed up with Level Water to offer part-funded 1:1 swimming lessons for SEND children.
Children who are of primary school age (four to 11 years old), cannot swim 10 metres unaided on front and back, and have special educational needs and disability (SEND) can apply for the swimming lessons. Applications go via Level Water and they’ll be held in our pool at Seashell, Cheadle Hulme.
How does it work?
Level Water and Seashell have teamed up together to offer these lessons. Level Water has provided our swimming teachers with specialist disability training. Seashell is then able to deliver the lessons with funding from Level Water, so that together, we can offer weekly 1:1 swimming for just £15 per lesson.
How do I apply?
Simply visit www.levelwater.org/learn-to-swim and click “Apply Now”. You’ll then be asked to fill in a short online application form. Level Water will then contact you when there is a slot available for your child at Seashell.
Who can I contact for further information?
If you’d like more information we suggest you see if you questions are answered on the Level Water website. If you cannot find what you’re looking for email andy@levelwater.org
About our pool
We are proud to offer fully inclusive swimming opportunities at our state-of-the-art pool, The Bertie Broome Swimming Pool, complete with moveable floor and self-depositing steps. These features make for a highly-dignified swimming experience for people with physical disabilities.
As swimming is a safe and low impact physical activity for people with mobility issues due to a disability, medical condition or injury, this is a much-needed facility within our community, and was designed and installed by aquatic specialists FT Leisure.
