Helen Ferguson

Helen joined the Royal College Manchester Governing Body in December 2024 , having worked at Seashell since September 2018.

Helen has held a variety of roles within Seashell and currently works in Royal College Manchester as a tutor on the Skills for Inclusion pathway.

In addition to Helen’s teaching role she oversees the RSE curriculum in college. Helen is passionate about students having access to high quality sex and relationship education, as well as a range of sexual health services, where RSE can empower them to recognise and respond to situations with more confidence.  This would be a direct result of knowledge and skills taught within the curriculum to prepare them for adulthood and life post college.

Helen is also currently studying for a master’s degree inclusion specialising in Autism: Adult Studies through the University of Birmingham. Her studies have a heavy focus on leading innovative practices in autism care and education and make a lasting difference in the lives of adults with autism.
