We’re delighted to tell you our Young Adult Services have had the results of a recent inspection.
The CQC (Care Quality Commission) found the service to have maintained their ‘Good’ rating in all areas except Caring, where they were ranked as ‘Outstanding’!
The service houses our residential Royal Manchester College students and the houses are based within Seashell’s site at Sir Norman Stoller Way.
Sian Jones, Registered Manager for this service, said: “I am incredibly proud of the Young Adults team as we have been rated ‘Outstanding’ in Caring – a truly exception result which celebrates their passion, dedication and commitment to delivering person-centred care of the highest standard.”
An excerpt from the report reads: “This service is exceptional at maximising the effectiveness of people’s care and treatment by assessing and reviewing their health, care, wellbeing and communication needs with them.
“People were consistently respected, valued and included in decisions about their care.”
Another part of the report commented on how well parents and carers found staff to be in understanding the needs of young adults.
It said: “Relatives spoke extremely positively about the service and the staff team.
“Staff knew people very well and ensured their individual needs were consistently met.
“People were supported to make decisions about how they wished to spend their time and were offered meaningful choices…”
