Why donating money for charity is so important

On an individual basis, donating money to charity can provide a sense of purpose and fulfilment. Supporting a cause you care about and having a positive impact on your community and wider world can give you a real sense of purpose.

On a business level, donating to a charity has many benefits. It shows customers that the business is committed to making a positive impact on society. This in turn can improve brand image and reputation, leading to increased loyalty and trust amongst clients and customers.

Additionally, charitable donations can be a tax-deductible business expense, providing a financial incentive for donating.

How charity donations have helped Seashell

Here at Seashell, a charity that is dedicated to providing a creative, happy and secure environment for children and young people with complex needs and additional communication challenges from across the UK, charity donations ensure we provide the very best facilities and life experiences and continue supporting people with learning difficulties.

Through fundraising methods, such as charity event fundraising, we can continue to make a difference and continually improve our facilities.

Fundraising plays a crucial role in our charity’s regular operations. We rely on the ongoing support from our challenge events, grants, and corporate and community donations to exist.

At Seashell, fundraising has a tremendous impact on the lives of children and young people, enabling us to provide improved care to a larger number of individuals. We offer support to those with complex needs and their families, who are able to thrive in our positive and nurturing environment.

Our facilities provide opportunities for the children and young adults in our care to acquire essential skills while having fun. In addition, our residential homes offer a comfortable and hospitable environment for respite care. Fundraising is essential to maintain the operations of these facilities and to provide the necessary care and support to young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

How to get involved with our charity

If you are looking to become more involved with Seashell, there are several ways you can do so.

One option is to volunteer your time and skills to our cause. Often, we have to rely on volunteers to carry out our goals, so donating your time can be just as valuable as donating money. We have a range of volunteering opportunities and a number of ways you can start volunteering with children and young people with learning disabilities.

Another way to get involved with us is to attend or organise fundraising events. We hold many events such as galas, charity walks, and fun runs to raise funds to support our work. Attending these events not only provides financial support to our charity, but also raises awareness and creates a sense of community around the cause.

If you are a business owner, you can also get involved with us by sponsoring events or programmes. Here at Seashell, we have many corporate partnerships as this ensures we can continue to provide the very best facilities and life experiences to the children and young people we educate, care for and support at our special needs residential schools, Royal School Manchester and Royal College Manchester.

How we utilise our donations

Once you have donated money for charity, you might wonder how this money is spent. This is often a popular question we get.

Here at Seashell, the more funding we have, the more we are able to continually maintain and improve the facilities at Seashell. This means that new projects, such as our cycle track, can be developed to expand our ability to help develop our students’ core skills.

Using our charity donations to support our Project Transformation is another key way that fundraising helps make a difference to us. We are embarking upon the next phase of our transformation, a new home for Royal College Manchester, a dedicated learning, development, health and wellbeing hub for our staff, and inclusive sports and activity facilities for our community.
