An integral part of the timetable
Our health provision enables nursing and therapy for young people with learning disabilities to be integral to every child and young adult’s timetable. This ensures that students get the most out of every single day spent with us. Here at Seashell Trust, we have a range of exceptional professionals located on-site to provide individualised healthcare services to children and young adults.
The specialist team is made up of professionals including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Audiologists, Creative Therapists and Nurses who support both mental and physical health needs. They work in partnership with both education and residential care staff to create strategies, targets and individual programmes that enable students to access learning opportunities across all settings.
We are also committed to supporting the development of teachers, nursing, and allied health professionals, and we regularly have students in these disciplines on placement with us. This means these students may attend meetings, assessments and intervention sessions, working alongside our teams.
As part of our ways of working, we always seek out the views of the children and young adults and their families and use this to inform planning and service delivery.
