As we wave goodbye to the academic year, we have been enjoying lots of wonderful events to celebrate our fantastic students and say thank you to our dedicated staff.

We were thrilled to see our much-anticipated annual college prom return. Students stunned in beautiful outfits and parents, teachers and support staff watched with pride. Our photographer captured beautiful moments and happy faces as students gathered with their friends and families at the Seashell campus. With luxury cars and limousines courtesy of Bentley Manchester and Together Money, our students arrived in style at the Double Tree Hilton Airport Hotel. Decorations filled the room, and everyone enjoyed the delicious food, entertainment, and of course the dancing!

Our college prom was a great success thanks to all the hard work by our staff, who ensured that every detail was perfect for our young adults. While this is an emotional time for students and staff, it is also an exciting one, as individuals continue to progress and grow in their adult lives beyond Seashell.

Next up was an abundance of feel-good events to extend appreciation and say a very well deserved ‘Thank You’ to all our incredible Seashell staff for their amazing work and achievements in 2022-23.

Team Seashell Day – twenty-four hours of reward and recognition – started with ‘Magical Monday’, a day of fun for staff and their families, with activities including a global selection of street food, live music and entertainment. Following this, was ‘Tranquil Tuesday’ where staff could enjoy a range of health and wellbeing activities from massage, to sound a bath and yoga sessions. The 24 hours culminated in a very special Team Seashell Awards Evening, hosted by comedian, Harry Stachini and aimed to celebrate those members of staff who, in the eyes of their colleagues, have achieved something particularly outstanding this year.

Although August means a break for our education teams in Royal School Manchester and Royal College Manchester, Seashell continues to be a hive of activity as our residential students enjoy summer time activities with care staff. From trips to the beach, to visits to the zoo, to taking part in our summer CADS programme – there’s no shortage in fun activities to enjoy!

Stay tuned to hear more about what our Seashell residents get up to this summer…
