Seashell Swimming Lessons
Seashell Swim School is Swim England Accredited, offering disabled swimming sessions and swimming lessons for autistic and disabled children of all abilities aged three and above.
Our main pool is 7.5 x 12 metres and features a moveable floor, offering maximum versatility. The comfort of our children and young people is paramount to us, which is why we maintain the temperature of our pool between 31 and 33 degrees during sessions.
For nervous and disabled swimmers, our hydro pool is a relaxing and reassuring environment. The area can also be turned into a sensory room with light projectors and a sound system.
Both our swimming pool and hydrotherapy pool offer individual and shared changing areas, changing beds, shower chairs, gradual steps, and chair and sling hoists for disabled pool access.
Swim England, Learn to Swim Stage 1-7, Groups 1:4
Learn to Swim lessons follow the Swim England Learn to Swim framework. Your child will be grouped depending on their swimming ability level. We aim to keep all groups as small as possible to allow a positive experience and to ensure lessons are person-centred.
Lessons run on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 3.30-7pm, and on Saturday at 9am-12:30pm (term-time only). All lessons are 30 minutes in length.
One-to-One Swimming Lessons
Please note one-to-one lessons are popular and we are currently operating a waiting list
1-to-1 lessons are a great way to support the individual needs of a swimmer. The lessons are suitable for nervous swimmers improving technique, and for those who need extra support in the water due to a disability or health condition.
Lessons run on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 3.30-7pm, and on Saturday at 9am-12:30pm (term-time only). All lessons are 30 minutes in length.
Family Swimming, every Saturday 1-2pm
Family swim is an accessible leisure swim for all the family. Play equipment is provided so that the participants can enjoy their time in the water. This session is ideal for those with disabilities due to the warm water environment.
All sessions must be booked in advance.
Inclusive Adult Swimming
A fully inclusive general swim session. We have accessible changing rooms, hoists and changing beds. Our pool is 32 degrees temp and 1.2 meters deep.
Mondays and Wednesdays: 12.15-1pm, term-time only.
Sensory Swim
In these sessions we will show you how to support your child in the water and how to encourage water confidence in a fun, friendly environment.
We will have lights and music, as well as sensory toys and activities for your child to swim with. These are held in our hydro pool.

Tuesdays 12:15-12:45pm (0-24 months)
Wednesdays 1:30-2pm (0-24 months)
Wednesdays 2-2:30pm (2-4 years)
