The young people at Seashell are superheroes….you can be too!

Disability Awareness Day takes place on Tuesday, 16th July 2024 and we want YOU to fundraise to help our students with the most complex disabilities. Choose a fundraising event, use the day as an opportunity to learn more about disabilities and support Seashell all at the same time.

Choose from five super ways to get involved – we’ve made suggestions for you below and in our fundraising pack.

How do I get started?

Download the super e-pack full of resources for the day. From a printable superhero mask, price tags for your clothes swap to a template to design your own superhero costume, we have everything!

Your pack also includes information about the challenges children and young adults with complex disabilities face. Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be Deaf Blind? We have an activity designed by specialists in disability education to help you understand how it feels.

A bit about Seashell…

Seashell is an extraordinary place for extraordinary people.

We help children and young adults with the most complex disabilities and their families to live their best lives through our Cheadle-based school, college, residential care homes and inclusive activities program.

The children and young adults who come to Seashell have profound, multiple and complex disabilities, for example severe learning and communication difficulties, multi-sensory impairments, and physical disabilities to name a few.

They are all superheroes combatting incredible challenges on a daily basis.
