Whether you have a professional interest, care for someone who has limited speech or work for an organisation that strives to be more inclusive of those with disabilities, our 2-day course will provide a comprehensive introduction to Makaton. No prior knowledge is necessary.

      Seashell’s Makaton Taster Session provides an introduction to Makaton and how it can support language and communication development.  It is aimed at those interested in finding out more about Makaton and who may be considering attending further training workshops.

      Participants will have an opportunity to learn a selection of 40 signs and symbols from the Makaton core vocabulary.

      The session is delivered by our specialist Makaton Tutor who is also a member of  Seashell’s Speech and Language Therapy team.

          The Makaton Level 3 and 4 training course follows on from the successful completion of Levels 1 and 2 (previously known as the Foundation Level).

          You will have the opportunity to revise signs and symbols from stages 1-4 of the Core Vocabulary and move on to learn and practice using signs and symbols from stages 5-8.

          The 4-day course is delivered by Makaton Tutors who are part of Seashell’s Speech and Language Therapy Outreach Team.

          The cost includes all tuition, Level 3 and 4 manuals and certificates of attendance from The Makaton Charity.

          Course dates and times:

          Session 1: 15th March 9am-12:30pm
          Session 2: 16th March 9am-12:30pm
          Session 3: 22nd March 9am-12:30pm
          Session 4: 23rd March 9am-12:30pm

          The course is delivered remotely.
