Denise joined the College Governing Body in July 2019, having been involved with Seashell Trust since 2012, firstly as a volunteer within the Learning and Development Department, and then employed as a HR Business Partner, before retiring in May 2018.
Denise spent her career as a Customer Service Manager and latterly, a HR professional, primarily in the insurance and finance sectors.
Denise is keen to maintain links with Seashell Trust, recognising that collaborative working between the Care and Education areas can bring great rewards for students, parents and staff. Her family’s experience of caring for people with various disabilities fuels her wish for the Trust to be as good as it possibly can be so that more can be learnt about how to ensure the children and young people in its care can reach their full potential.
Denise is married with three grown up children and five granddaughters. When the family aren’t keeping her busy, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and travel.
