Sherann is Head of Family Services and uses her in-depth knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities to support families and represent Seashell nationally. In her role she advocates for the participation of children, young people and parent carers in the co-commissioning, co-design, co-delivery and co-assessment of services locally and nationally.  

Sherann was significantly involved in the amendment to the Children and Families Act 2014  for the right for parents and carers to have the right to an assessment for support.  She has also sat on a number of key national work streams including the SEND Implementation Board and Advisory Board (DfE).

Sherann received the Proud of Stockport “Community Champions” Award in 2013, Recognition Award for her work in the 2014 SEND Reforms and was awarded an MBE in  2017 for her Services to Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. 

Sherann is a key note speaker, trainer and consultant in Co-production.
